Healing Waters

Sea salt is known to be a healing mineral.

When we cry, our eyes pour out a salty substance that we call tears. God made us out of dirt from the earth and we cry tears not unlike sea water. So it is natural to cry, He created us that way.

When we ‘baptize’ ourselves with the fruitful tears in response to the Holy Spirit, we cleanse our souls and come to rest in Him. God did not give us tears to hide but bear forth the pain and sorrows set upon us by earthly beings. When we weep tears of hurt that are bathed in the Spirit, we are shedding those tears for God. What I am trying to say is that it is ok to cry and you don’t have to hide it.

When something is truly wrong it’s ok to seek the comfort of others. A soul stashed away and held captive will perish.

There are different kinds of tears however: those that heal and those that drain your very being.

The latter are exhausting and unhealthy. They cause headaches and swelling and backaches. The ones that heal are the ones brought on by prayer or the sight of injustice. These tears are fruitful and provide peace as we have come to Jesus weeping.

The Bible says we are to rejoice and be happy but emotions are a gift too. We were all given gifts of the Holy Spirit to share within the church body to uplift and carry out His plans.

Tears of anger stain our cheeks and leave hard lines, they are unhealthy and bring only death. Though tears of sorrow or a broken heart prompt healing and prayers.

Sometimes, God brings us though times of pain and we wait to see what His plans may be. We are not in control. The healing begins with the tears that are of a broken heart as we call upon His name and still give Him our praise. Praise can be prophetic. Praise is prophetic when it is directed and empowered by the Holy Spirit to accomplish God’s ‘now’ purpose for our lives or a particular meeting.

Prophetic praise is the Spirit-led proclamation of who God is, of His attributes, of what He has done and what He will accomplish.

A benefit of prophetic praise is that it penetrates the atmosphere and pushes back oppression, apathy, fear or any other effects of spiritual warfare. (See 2 Chronicles 20, Psalm 149:5,9)

I’ve been in a dark place where I cannot hold back tears and even fearful places that only drive me back running to Jesus because He is Love. Perfect Love that casts out all fears!

Even in the darkest times where the valley seems to swallow us whole, we can find Hope. Psalm 23:4 says that, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

That rod and staff are our armour. The armour given to us by the Holy Spirit (See Ephesians 6:10-18).  He is where the weak are made strong! Cast out all fear and rejoice in His Name.

Remember Job? The tortured soul in the Old Testament?

It’s not an easy thing for people to have the patience that Job had. He was put through so many trials. Even boils! His whole family was taken away by evil. He was tested beyond what Satan gave the human body credit for. If it wasn’t for His strength in the Holy Spirit, Satan may have won the battle.
We are weak and He is strong. For John 14:6 says, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” He who believes in the Holy Spirit will be given strength. The Bible says so over and over again.

So, when you cry and the things in this life seem too heavy and hard to bear, remember Corinthians 1:30, “It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God–that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.” Take comfort in His Word and share your sorrows with one another and bath in the healing waters of the Holy Spirit.

Just call upon His Name. For it says, where 2 or more are gathered in his name, He is there. (Mathew 18:20)
