You know you have some amazing friends when they agree to do something like this for you!
Recently I discovered a brand new product from Gay Lea, called Nordica Smooth Cottage Cheese. Now, if you’re like me, you’re not a fan of the lumpy, curdy texture of traditional cottage cheese. Sure, it’s healthy for you, but it does have a mouthfeel that not everyone enjoys … including me.
So when I realized that Nordica Smooth Cottage Cheese had all the goodness of regular cottage cheese in all sorts of yummy flavours, but without the lumpiness, I jumped at the chance to introduce my friends to it as well!
We have some wonderful friends, and they were more than willing to help me out and they even agreed to do a taste test, complete with blindfold. Huge thanks to James, Courtney and Cindy for doing this (… and for trusting me!!).
Here’s how it went down:
I picked up three flavours of Nordica Smooth Cottage Cheese from my local grocery store. I grabbed Vanilla Bean, Lemon and Salted Caramel. All of them come in 100g servings, like yogurt cups, so they’re perfect for when you’re rushing off to work or school, or even for a bedtime snack.
I blindfolded each of my friends and asked them to taste the flavours, one at a time. Nordica Smooth Cottage Cheese is perfect for pairing with berries or bananas, but I wanted my friends to get a pure taste of just the Cottage Cheese itself.
I asked them to guess what they were tasting, and without fail, each one said it was Greek Yogurt. They were close, but Nordica Smooth Cottage Cheese actually has more 25% more protein (10g) than Greek Yogurt, and it only has 110 calories! It’s also a source of calcium.
They were completely surprised! Their reactions were priceless, and I even caught them on video. Take a look:
I think we may have some new cottage cheese fans right here. I know my mind has been completely changed – I love the taste of Nordica Smooth Cottage Cheese!
Nordica Smooth Cottage Cheese is only available in Ontario at most major grocery stores, so grab it when you see it. Try adding it to smoothies or shakes for a healthy richness that you can feel good about!
