Purple Cow Pops

Here's a quick and yummy treat for the kids this summer:  Purple Cow Pops!

Purple Cow Pops 2

It's so easy, the kids could make this themselves.  All you'll need is 100% grape juice, some vanilla ice cream, and a popsicle mold.

Just layer the ice cream and juice in the molds.  As it freezes, the ice cream will float to the top of the molds.   Watch the video below for a quick demonstration.

What's your family's favourite cold treat on a hot summer day?

  2. Your purple cow pops reminded me of something I used to enjoy when I was little with orange and cream! What a great recipe! A summer winner for dessert and am sure it appeals to children of all ages!

  4. We made something similar to these with my grandmother when we were little. We called them "freeze pops" then. I think it was just frozen kool-aid in a Dixie Cup. LOL

I'd love to try the upgraded version with the vanilla ice cream.

  6. Those look really delicious! I recently saw some Zoku popsicle molds on sale at TJ Maxx, I may have to make a run back to pick some up. Ice cream is our families favorite hot summer day treat, fully loaded with treats. :)

  7. This looks like a fun twist on popsicles! I am excited to try this out with our kids this summer. Now we just need some weather warm enough to get these put to good use. We have always been fans of frozen treats from the seasonal ice cream shop down the road! So much colorful fun and imagination this time of year.
