1. Constant physical contact with little ones. 24/7. Nonstop.
2. People who complain about having a restless night when you're so sleep deprived you can't even talk.
3. Snotty noses.
4. People who ask "What's wrong with him?" when he's having a tantrum in the grocery store. He's two, that's what's wrong.
5. Potty training.
6. Church nursery workers who bring your baby back to you. Thankfully this hasn't happened at our own church, but it has at others!
7. People who assume your incomplete sentences are because you're done talking, when really it's just that you've forgotten how to finish a thought after years of being constantly interrupted by children.
8. Dirty dishes that haven't been scraped.
9. People who ask "Is she talking to herself?" when she's playing on her own.
10. People who stop you to talk at length about how busy they are, but don't realize that you don't have time to chat because you're in the middle of running errands with a toddler on your hip, a phone ringing in your purse, a bag of perishable groceries in your hand, and a diva pulling on you because they have to go to the bathroom "right now!".
What pet peeves have you discovered since having children?

I love the constant physical contact...of course now that my kids are older (7&10) and I hardly get any anymore, I totally miss it.
ReplyDeleteI don't like snotty noses either. So gross to see a kid with snot running down to their lips. Yuck!!
ReplyDeleteI don't have any kids but I can imagine all of your pet peeves. I'm sure it all gets better with age (when they're grown up, aha).
ReplyDeleteOur church nursery only contacts the parent when the child will not stop crying and is upsetting the other kids. They have a system that doesn't disturb anyone else in the service. A snotty nose is my biggest pet peeve!
ReplyDeleteThis is so funny. Many of these are my pet peeves as well. Life just completely changes once kids are in the picture. LOL!
ReplyDeleteBwahahahahaha. This is hilarious, and true. The worst is runny noses. It's not that their nose is running so much as it is that they'll wipe their nose with ANYTHING OTHER than toilet paper or tissue.
ReplyDeletePotty training was fun, not really! lol Thanks for the great post ^_^
ReplyDeleteKids are truly a handful! People without kids or haven't raised one themselves don't even realize how hard it is, it truly can be insanely stressful.
ReplyDeleteI don't have many pet peeves. I don't pay too much attention to what others are doing I pay attention to my own.
ReplyDeleteI really don't have any pet peeves regarding my kids. They are 20 and 17 now, so whatever bugged me then I miss now!
ReplyDeleteThese are great! LOL- the grocery store tantrum.
ReplyDeleteClutter! I absolutely hate it and I have learned to hate it even more since having kids. My kids are free spirited so they leave things everywhere. It is annoying.
ReplyDeleteHaving kids changed everything, didn't it? I've got so many pet peeves. Probably the biggest one is parents that let their children run wild in the store and don't seem to notice.
ReplyDeleteDirty dishes was definitely a pet peeve of mine. Those plates don't scrape themselves!
ReplyDeleteOmg totally agree with this whole list lol.... The whole contact thing I was just talking to my hubby about tonight! My daughter clings to me so much I feel like my arms are bruising... Wish she would go cling to her dad once in awhile lol
ReplyDeleteYour whole list hits home for me. Runny noses is probably on the top of my list.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize how many pet peeves I had either until I had kids either. I could relate to this post 110%. Thanks for sharing this, now I want to go list mine own!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a true post. Many parents can relate to this post. This is also hilarious to a degree too.
ReplyDeleteSooooo true! I HATE snotty noses on my kids but HATE even more snotty noses on other kids especially when they are near my kids since that means my kids will annoy me with their new snotty noses. Annoying right!
ReplyDeleteChildren are my pet peeves, lol. No, just kidding, seriously people that put all of their dirty laundry on Facebook is my biggest pet peeve. Some people don't need the internet at all!
ReplyDeleteLol, I must say I agree with all of these! You hit the nail on the head with all of them.
ReplyDeleteYes on all of these! I have so many more but it would take all night to write them all down! lol
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful list of pet peeves. My list of complaints is:
ReplyDeletetrashing the house almost as if they are a tornado
Fighting
Complaining because I make them do chores
Wiping booties
Frogs
I had to giggle on the number 7 as I am the same as you. We don't have church nursery here but back when we were in Korea, we did but our kids wuldn't stay there anyway, they want to be with us which was fine.
ReplyDeleteThe snotty nose (eww) and those restless nights (ugh). But I think they're a part of having kids and I won't mind experiencing those again. ;)
ReplyDelete#7 cracked me up! It's true, and now I talk so fast just to make sure I get it in or I simply just don't talk because, what's the point. :) I've got a bunch of peeves:
ReplyDelete- Having to repeat myself 3 to 5 times with a 'did you hear me'
- Checking teeth and toothbrushes to make sure they actually brushed their teeth
- Legos, I've cursed aloud many a night walking on those darn things.
Love all of these plus constant unsolicited advice from either a) people who don't have kids or, b) people with kids who are either out of control or should know how damn annoying unsolicited advice is.
ReplyDeleteThis was totally hilarious. I love the one about the two year old having a tantrum in the store and people asking what's wrong.
ReplyDeleteI love constant touching of my little ones, but they are only 5 and 4, so I am guessing I will get tired of it sometime! I do NOT like snotty noses!!!
ReplyDeleteMost of these sound like pet peeves I have had since my kids were little. The older they get, the more pet peeves revolve around things not getting done at home!
ReplyDeleteI used to talk to myself a lot as a kid. I was an only child so when I played I had to be the voice for everyone lol
ReplyDeleteHa! Doesn't it seem like they activate all of your triggers. I know the boychild does.
ReplyDeleteSnotty noses, yuck! And the unsolicited advice ARGGH! Does my head in!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with #linkalist
OMG yes snotty noses wasn't a problem until I had kids, I always question how these little people can have so much of it in their bodies! LOL
ReplyDeleteBAHAHAHA!! I'm not a Mom but I can say that all of the questions kids ask would drive me NUTS!! And all the mouth noises. Ugh. LOL!
ReplyDeletePotty training is on top of my list. Some of the pet peeves you mentioned are also the ones I have :)
ReplyDeleteNumber #4 always irk me. Kids are going to be kids, and adults were once children, too. So, I always ignore people who make a big deal if my 2 y/o is throwing a tantrum. :P
ReplyDeleteYes to all of those things, especially asking what's wrong with the crying 2-year-old. I have a pet peeve when people compare children. Especially if one of mine hasn't done something yet and constantly hearing how everyone else's child has already done it lol #likalist
ReplyDeleteMy pet peeve is when my kids drag their feet. I hate when we are in the store and both of the kids are dragging their feet instead of walking properly.
ReplyDeletehahahaha funny experiences. I do not have kids yet but I think I will facing all and then more.
ReplyDeleteI relate to all of these. Especially 7, my daughter is constantly interrupting me! #linkalist
ReplyDeleteMy pet peeve is when kids pick their noses! I know they can't help it, but it drives me crazy!
ReplyDeleteMine are shoving things in my face as if I am blind, and using my name "mom" as if its the most annoying word to use.. MOOOMMMMMM (with a whine). Got a good chuckle from your post!
ReplyDeleteI love this post! I think we all have those pet peeves that pop up after we have kids. You never know what's going to get on your nerves until it happens.
ReplyDeleteYes, between snot and drool we're drowning in baby juice over here! Loved this list!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up to #linkalist x
The one about not being able to finish . . . wait, what?
ReplyDeleteWhat a funny post. The most annoying things for me usually involves others that don't have kids themselves. The just end up asking the weirdest questions! Thanks for sharing. #ConfessionsLinkUp
