I’ve been on a Slimfast diet (in between summer adventures, of course!), and a large part of that is their meal replacement shakes. Little did I know that adding a bit of Matcha would increase the health benefits and effectiveness of my regular Slimfast shakes!
Matcha Green Tea is green tea leaves, ground into a powder. You can steep it or use it in baking, but either way, you’re getting the entire leaf! Matcha has so many health benefits, it’s crazy. It can increase your metabolism, enhances your focus and concentration and has all of the benefits of caffeine without the jitteriness that too much can cause.
I mixed it into my regular Slimfast shake, and while I couldn’t taste it, I was still able to reap all of those great benefits!
Since making this recipe, I’ve also mixed it into a Slimfast Chocolate Peanut Butter Shake and a Tropical Strawberry Smoothie! I’m loving that I can mix the Matcha into almost anything, and while it may change the colour of my shake, it doesn’t affect the taste at all!
And hey, if you’re not into Slimfast, try another protein powder, or just add extra frozen fruit!
